Soma loans is a loan scheme given to students, you can simply locate to soma loans
and follow the steps, once your loan is approved, you will be able to see the loan
amount credited to your loan account in your wallet.
Note, while we strive to prevent fraud, your loan application will undergo review to
make sure the submitted data of the school is accurate and authentic, student's data
and parent's data,
To start this application, go to loans, then choose Soma Loans, you will be required to
create a student profile, school profile, parent's profile and then you will be able to
request the loan following the loan category available.
This product is available to all users above the age of eighteen but under parent,
guardian or sponsor's consent and the loan can be repaid in installments as per the loan
information while applying for the loan
Soma loans only work to students from nursery to senior six where a parent requests
for a loan or any child above the age of eighteen.
Though Soma Loans is a financial support for students, Conditions set below must be
complied with by the parent or student before given support;
● Soma loans is for students from selected districts; Iganga, Bugiri, Mukono,
Tororo, Jinja, Namutumba, Bugweri, Mbale and Namayingo district and for a
student to obtain, she or he must present the documents, a valid school
admission letter, school ID, school recommendation letter from deputy or
headteacher of the school, report card for the previous term, a passport photo,
recommendation letter from LC1, parent’s national ID and student ID if a
student is a candidate
● Students only obtain a loan from UGX100,000 to UGX 1,500,000.
